As part of AISD’s 2017 Bond Program, Norman Elementary School received a $25 million investment to modernize and further grow the campus. Prior to its renovation, the 10-acre site consisted of three separate structures dating from 1969, 1988, and 2006. Today, Norman Elementary shines as a single 70,000 square foot cohesive school. To achieve this, two structures were fully renovated and connected while the third was partially demolished to accommodate the new, two-story addition. The state-of-the-art elementary can support over 500 students and features flexible and open learning spaces, outdoor classrooms, community spaces, and plenty of natural light. This renewal accelerates the AISD campus into 21st century learning support and offers state-of-the art technology and community spaces.
