2023 Correctional News Facility of the Month – August

The new Travis County Civil and Family Courts Facility stands 12-stories tall in the heart of downtown Austin. Due to a 12-foot grade differential between San Antonio Street (west) and Guadalupe Street (east), the facility rests on a podium that spans the length of the block. Lower Level 01 occupies the podium immediately below the tower and consists of a secured parking area, MEP rooms, and additional building support areas. The west half of the podium is a landscaped plaza with elevator banks servicing the five levels of below grade public parking below. It was future-proofed to support a 15-story office tower to be constructed later.
