Home to four research laboratories and two research centers, the Applied Research Laboratories (ARL) on JJ Pickle Research Campus (PRC) was expanding quickly with nowhere to go. The Clark S. Penrod Wing is an adjacent three-story 81,000 square foot addition providing office and research space.

Comprised of an efficient structural steel frame, our team employed the use of composite steel floors. The building cladding design allowed for architectural expression with a tilt-up wall panel system that takes advantage of the economies associated with that system, but detailed carefully to deliver more than a standard appearance.
